A work in progress

Philippians 2:12-13 It is God who works in you in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Even after you encounter the love of God and give  your heart to Christ,  excepting the gift of salvation through his death on the cross,  you will continue to discover new dimensions of what it means to be saved.  When you except Jesus into your life,  The holy spirit comes to dwell inside you,  and his presence guides and directs you, comfort and encourage you.

But you still have choices to make and you must learn to let your love for God be at the center of your decision. Your obedience to God is for your own good,  not because  you have to work it out to get to heaven or he’s going to leave you if your work isn’t good enough.  Working out your salvation with fear means that you remain humble, teachable and open to what God is doing in your life.  Salvation is a process,  a work in progress,  as you become transformed into the image of Jesus on purpose.

Count Your Blessings

Jesus Christmas

1Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always; pray and give thanks in all circumstances…

The relationship between gratitude and the joy continues to be studied by doctors, psychologists, and counselors. When we’re aware of all the good things we have in life, when we stop focusing on what we don’t have and notice what we do have, we experience more joy. In other words, when we count our blessings, we realize how much God has blessed us and we fell grateful.

In a culture that’s focused on buying and spending to have more and more, it’s easy to overlook how much we have. Our health, our families and our work should not be taken for granted. Food to eat, a roof over our head and clothes to wear are also gifts and not entitlements. Friends who care about you, reliable transportation, and a sense of humor – the list of blessings we tend to take for granted goes on and on.

Today, stop and think of 10 things your grateful for, count your blessings, especially the things you often take for granted.

Share this and remind someone how blessed they are.

People Can Change

Romans 12:2 Let God’s transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

We tend to trust our first impression of people and go with our gut.  Even when we form our option of others over along period of time, it’s difficult to erase the negative impression from the beginning of a relationship. But our impressions are not always accurate, and even if they are, we have to allow people the opportunity to change or allow God to change people.

We offer form our impression of people and judge them. Sometime if our option is negative, we dismiss them and don’t treat them kindly and compassionately. We think a leopard can’t change it’s spots which is true, unless he’s changed by Jesus.

People can change through the power of God’s love and God’s grace. God wants you to accept and treat people the way you want them to accept and treat you.

Think Of Others First

Philippians 2:3-4  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain, but in humility consider others better than yourselves…look not only to your own interest, but also to the interest of others.

How would you respond today if someone asked you , “Are you a vain person?” Most of us would hope that we’re not, and even if we know the truth about ourselves, we would be reluctant to admit it. However, in our age of social media, we face more temptation to value ourselves too highly than ever before. From what we post on our page to the selfies we snap to share with each other on a daily basis, we’re encouraged to be the star in our very own reality series called life.

However, like Christ, he wants us to put each other first. Not be focused on our own appearance, identity, or needs. Instead look for opportunities to serve those around us. In a culture that encourages us to chase after our fifteen minutes of fame, it’s not always easy, but with Christ as our role model, it’s possible.

Think of something you can do to help someone you know, and let that someone be the star today as you support and serve them.

Be Authentic

Luke 16:10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

Who are you when no one else is looking?

ARGY                        family 1

How do you behave when no one around you knows your name or will likely ever see you again? When your on vacation, do you have a different attitude towards other people than you have on a normal day? We’re often influenced by other people and society to behave one way at home and another way in public. However, God wants you to live right with integrity and honesty all the time.  It’s not just your reputation that’s at stake; it’s the Christ like image you bear to who Christ is in your life. When people see you change your behavior according to what happens around you, they assume your faith is only a role you play. Today, be a worthy ambassador of Jesus by showing love, patient and self discipline. Sharing your authentic faith with everyone around you no matter what.

Think about a time when God has been patient with you. God is patient with you in every area of your life. He won’t give up on you even when you make a mistake. Try being patient with others as God is with you. Instead of becoming frustrated, try to do what is right before God so you can become more like Jesus every day.

Patient and Kind

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind…

When someone does something for you; Take time to make you a nice card for a special occasion, prepare a great meal for dinner, knit you a cozy blanket so you can stay warm, spends qualify time just because you need it or go out of there way to help you with a project for hours – it says I Love You! They put their heart, time, energy and soul in you because know what you need when you need it, but their personal investment shows they care. They didn’t just spend money on a gift or say I’m to busy, they invested themselves into every detail of your needs.

This is the kind of love we see Christ demonstrate many times over. He knows that patience without kindness doesn’t have much invested. And kindness without patience may not be able to give at the right time. However, when kindness and patience comes together, love is demonstrated.

Today, use your patience with kindness for those around you. Demonstrate the kind of mature love that we see in Christ describes in 1 Corinthians Ch13…

Faith that fits

1 John 2:28   continue to build your relationship so that when Jesus appears you will be confident and unashamed before him when he returns.

When clothes shrink, they no longer fit you properly.  Maybe you washed a delicate piece in hot water or maybe the garment was just cheap quality. Regardless, when something becomes smaller in size,  It’s uncomfortable and hard to wear.

When your faith shrinks, it also feels too small for you to handle the challenge you face in life.  You start to tear at the seam of what you believe, and disappointments began to squeeze your commitment to trust in God in that situation.

The only way you can survive the trials of life is with a faith that fits .  Just as a tailor-made garment  requires daily attention,  you must invest in your relationship with God if you expect to persevere through hard times and trust him.  It’s difficult to trust someone you don’t know .

So don’t let your faith shrink . Invest and grow your relationship with God daily by spending time in his word and prayer.

Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the confidence of what we  hope will happen. The reassurance of the unforeseen.

Everything good in life begins with hope. Whatever you believe you should never be without. Stay hopeful because hope is where dreams begin along with faith and love. It is the voice of your purpose in life and the pillar of your spirituality. It is your push, your step, your blueprint and your guidance. So despite your situation, keep moving ahead because as long as you’re moving and creating, you will receive results.  You are creating better days for the unexpected opportunities that are coming your way. Stay hopeful and be challenged, knowing God is building your character, faith and strength. 1 Corinthians 15:19 We have hope in Jesus..

God’s awesome plan for you…

DREAM Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plan I have for you to Prosper…..

God is an awesome God! He has blessed each of us with special gifts.

If you are blessed with money, he says to give generously to help others be blessed. God wants us to use our money to help those in need to live a better life. God did not put us on this earth to live for ourselves and be selfish. He blessed us with opportunities to have more so we could bless others and that makes us more like Christ.

All blessings and everything we have is because of God’s generosity. He wants us to use our money and possessions to be generous like him. God wants us to use the blessings that are given to us to bless others and share the good news about him with the world. Each time we use our money to help others and share the good news about Christ, it brings people closer to Jesus. Its also an investment in our eternal future.

So God expects us to use our resources to benefit others and make friends. This also means, using your money to encourage your friends and family to trust God. Then when all your possession are gone, and you go to heaven, you will be welcomed in heaven by those you were good to.

Imagine when you’re no longer here on earth and in heaven, those same people you helped will say to you, ‘Thank you for investing in me”. I’m your friend for eternity. I’m in heaven because you cared enough to share with me and bring me to Christ. “You bought me a ticket to an event that saved my life”. Some might say, “You gave me hope because you spent your money and time sharing the good news about Christ with so many”. And now, I am a follower and in heaven because of you.

Helping people find Jesus is the most rewarding feeling and biggest investment your money can be used for. When you give, you give hope, and encouragement to those who are feeling hopeless, lost and confused. So give generously the same way Christ has been generous with you and do it in a way that is pleasing to God. Show integrity and genuine love for others.

The decision to do what is right and trust God is the way to go. It is a daily decision you have to consciously make. God said he will meet your need if you love your neighbor as you do yourself and maintain your integrity.

So give generously and watch it come back to you.  This is how you reproduce, and it applies to every area of your life – especially financial.  2 Corinthians 9:6-7 Who ever give little will receive little. Who ever gives generously will receive generously. God loves a cheerful giver.

When God makes a way out of no way, just know its for his purpose. So when he puts an opportunities in front of you to have abundance of wealth, it is a sign that you have been blessed, rewarded and chosen to help pave the way for others around you to be blessed.

I know first hand what it means to bless others. I purposely look for ways on a daily basis to let people see Christ in me, by making a difference in there life. Today I stopped at a sandwich shop to have lunch, and I was approached by this 3 year old girl selling candy in a box while her mother and little brother looked on. I stop to talk to her and then her mother came over. After talking for a minute, I find out they where in need of money for a hotel. I felt her pain and her worries about her children’s well being. I quickly started thinking of ways I could be a blessing to her and her children. I bought them lunch, gave her money for a hotel and shared with her the business opportunity God has blessed me with and how I can help her live a better life too. She was ever excited, she became emotional. She expressed her appreciation for my thoughtfulness and the hope I gave her for a better tomorrow for her family. I felt awesome, just knowing God has put me in a position to change lives. All Glory to God! Our gifts; money and possessions are to be used to bless others..

Think about it…

Has an opportunity ever come your way for you to have more money to better your life, your family and others around you but you let it pass you by? Think about the people God put in your life to influence and help but do you. God continues to open doors for you to have more to help others, but you have to open your eyes and notice the opportunity when it comes your way. When you help others, your helping God.
